Tim Ferguson: CDs

What's Going On? - CD

This duo CD I made with my long time colleague Tom Dempsey was voted one of the best 100 jazz releases of 2008. It features a wide range of music. Everything from our own original tunes to the title cut by Marvin Gay and music from Hank Jones, Billy Strayhorn, Hoagy Charmichael, Barry Harris, Thad Jones and others. Check this one out!!

Get Out of Town - CD

This is the newest recording (2006) from Stevens, Siegle & Ferguson, the trio I've had since 1989 with pianist Michael Jefry Stevens and drummer Jeff Siegel . A mix of our originals and our take on standards. This is a good one.

Perspectives - CD

The first CD by my co-lead quartet with my old friend guitarist Tom Dempsey. Half my tunes and half Tom's (with one cover of a blues by Duke Pearson), it's a fun, funky and ecletic mix. Features David Bixler on alto sax and Jeff Brillinger on drums.

Triologue - CD

Triologue is Stevens, Siegel & Ferguson's 2001 recording. A good sampling of our tunes and our derangements of standards. Full of nice surprises.

Points of View - CD

This is SS&F's second CD, a must for the serious collector.

Panorama - CD

This is the CD we made with the virtuoso trumpeter Valery Ponomarev. Valery arrived from Russia and was immediately hired by the great drummer and bandleader Art Blakey for his group the Jazz Messengers. We were fortunate to do some concerts with him both in the US and Europe and had a great time recording with him. This CD has some exceptional trumpet playing in addition to the signature improvisation and interplay of SS&F.
